7. Perspective assessment of the study programme from the point of view of the interests of Latvia.

The human factor and the comprehensive development of the professional skills takes greater part in the public living conditions in modern Latvia. The human’s professional skills are the the most important resourse of Latvia.

With the public developing increases the necessity for the well-educated workforce which is able to do its duties qualitativy, which is competent in chosen speciality and which is able to follow the rapid changes in society.

Stable and rapid economic recovery in Latvia we can support only on the qualitative formation of the human resources and on the effective using of the existing intellectual potential. The qualitative human recources are the base of the successful development and the guarantee of the democracy.

The world’s practice clearly demonstrates that the capacity of the intelligence but not the capacity of the capital solves competitiveness in the last 30-40 years.

It means that the education gets the most important place in the competition campaign.

Practice and special researches give evidence that labour market becomes ever complicated and not only knowledge and skills are required but also mentaly developed individual abilities and attitude which confirm creativity of the specialists- their ability to work perspectively, forcasting, being competent and making decisions in unforeseen situations, synthesizing new ideas and using modern information technology. So the informed specialist with the analytical- research tendency, which is charasteristic for the higher education is required today.

The necessity of the integration of professional and academic education is confirmed by researches in the USA and other countries. It is accentuated that it is necessary to pay attention not too much to the programmes which prepare separately function specialists, but which promote the formation of systems’specialists.

The reform of the educational system in Latvia created the positive changes: democratization of the education is performed, the possibilities to get education corresponding to the interests of society and personality are gradually provided joining in European education space – offered study programme “European Economics and Business” is special corresponding for this goal.

The accreditation study programme is original from the point of view of the HSP and higher educational establishments of Latvia.

At first it is professional study programme, which is oriented on the preparation for the labour markets very necessary for national economy specialists – economists.

Professional education study programme “European Economics and Business” offers all-round and sufficient professional knowledge in order the graduaters of the programme successfully will involve in the labour market not only in Latvia but also in European Union. The programme provides the further study perspectives, giving opportunity to continue studies in the programmes of the professional master studies.

The urgency of the study programme “European Economics and Business” is also determined by contemporary tendences in the area of economics and politics.

The training of the specialists-economists with the higher education must conform with the demands of the labour market in Latvia and in EU.

Business development in Latvia, the development of the market infrastructure and accession to the European Union demand highly qualified specialists for important branches of economics both in Latvia and Europe.

The mission of the higher school is to train the specialists with higher education in conformity with the demands of European Union. At present the higher school has occupied a stable position in the educational system of Latvia. It is modern higher school, where students acquire not only the profession, but also they develope their creative intellect, skill to obtain their necessary knowledge independently and obtain practical skills for using.

That all confirms the point of view that students’ training in the framework of the HSP professional study programme “European Economics and Business” which provides the development of the above mentioned tasks is and will be for a long time very urgent and it will promote the development of Latvian society.

The request for specialists in the field of economics and business constantly grows both in public sector and in private sector.

The opportunities to acquainted with the contemporary development of business on a wide scale in the world which give the HSP , provide graduates’ opportunities to become a competitive specialist not only in contemporary Latvia but also in European Union.
